The Toxicity Toolkit is a lot to take in. Change takes time.
Don’t be surprised if, when working through the weekly exercises, you find that it may take a while to become comfortable using a skill.
Don’t be hard on yourself if it takes longer than a week to learn a skill, recognize a behavior, try out strategies for improving dynamics, or reflect and internalize the lesson.
What if you don’t encounter any examples of the behavior that week?
It’s ok to decide as a family to repeat a week.
I highly recommend going back to revisit earlier weeks when you’ve completed the 13-week program.
You may learn more about a skill, or recognize things on a deeper level. Repeating exercises is a great way to get the practice and familiarity you need to be successful.
Remember that the Toxicity Toolkit is about building life-skills, not checking off that something is “Done.”
