Outsourced Regulation

• Creates dependency
• Requires someone else to manage emotional states
• Sets the stage for fusion and control

Identity Fusion

• Blurs boundaries
• Makes the other person’s needs feel like your own
• Makes control feel like “care”

Narrative Control

• Rewrites reality to maintain the system
• Protects the fused identity
• Justifies outsourced regulation

These three form the central loop.

• Makes the other person responsible for functioning
• Reinforces Outsourced Regulation

These four create the Accountability Firewall.

Guilt Hook

• Pulls the other person back into compliance
• Activates shame and obligation

Soft Bid Bypass

• Starves the relationship of micro‑connection
• Creates emotional hunger and instability

Emotional Ambush

• Floods the system with intensity
• Reasserts control when distance appears

These form the Connection‑Control Loop.

These spirals alternate depending on which person’s nervous system hits threshold first.

Fusion creates justification for control.

Narrative Control requires protection.
The Innocence Defense and Minimization protect the story.
Fragility Gambit and Coercive Helplessness protect the self.

C. Distortion → Hooks → Ambush
Guilt Hooks pull the other person back in.
Soft Bid Bypass starves the connection.
Emotional Ambush floods the connection.

D. Ambush → Spirals → Reset
Ambush triggers Escalation.
Escalation triggers Collapse.
Collapse resets the cycle.

This is why the system feels self‑reinforcing and self‑protecting.
