  1. A pattern where tension increases rapidly between two people.
  2. Each reaction intensifies the next reaction.
  3. Small triggers snowball into major conflict.
  4. Emotional states amplify instead of settling.
  5. Both people become more reactive over time.
  6. Attempts to resolve the issue make it worse.
  7. The conversation shifts from the issue to the fight itself.
  8. Each person feels increasingly threatened or misunderstood.
  9. Communication becomes faster, louder, or sharper.
  10. Boundaries collapse under emotional pressure.
  11. The nervous system shifts into fight-or-flight.
  12. The original problem becomes irrelevant.
  13. Both people lose access to calm reasoning.
  14. The conflict becomes self-sustaining.
  15. The spiral ends only when someone withdraws or shuts down.
