Survivor literacy is the ability to read systems from the inside. It’s the skill of noticing:

what the field is doing
where the instability sits
who holds the power
how the harm is distributed
what the outputs are actually telling you

People who haven’t lived through rupture often can’t see this. They’re trained to look at the individual, not the system. They moralize the dependent variable because they’ve never needed to survive the independent ones.

Survivors don’t have that luxury.
We learned early that misreading the field is dangerous.

Observable

Measurable

Survivors track patterns because patterns keep us alive. We notice frequency, escalation, inconsistency. That becomes data.

Demonstrable

Survivors know that the same conditions produce the same outcomes. We’ve seen it across years, relationships, and systems. That becomes evidence.

Replicable

Survivors recognize that harm follows structure, not personality. If the field is the same, the outputs will be the same. That becomes replicability.

Navigable

Survivors learn to move through unstable systems with precision. We read gradients, thresholds, and danger zones. That becomes navigability.

Survivor literacy is not just compatible with Episkevology—it’s the foundation that makes the framework legible.
