Relational Field Theory
POST TWO: We Seek False Binaries Because We Crave Cohesion — And That’s the Trap
There’s a moment in every person’s life when they realize something quietly devastating:
Most of the binaries we cling to aren’t real.
They’re coping mechanisms.
Not because we’re shallow.
Not because we’re uneducated.
Not because we’re unwilling to think deeply.
We cling to binaries because we’re human —
and humans crave cohesion.
Let’s break this open.
🔵 Why Binaries Feel So Comforting
A binary gives the nervous system:
- a clean line
- a clear answer
- a sense of order
- a feeling of safety
- the illusion of stability
It’s not truth we’re craving.
It’s cohesion.
Binaries offer the cheapest, fastest form of cohesion available.
They’re like fast food for the psyche:
- quick
- predictable
- emotionally numbing
- temporarily satisfying
- ultimately unsustainable
And because they’re simple, they feel safe.
But here’s the illusion:
Binaries don’t create cohesion.
They collapse complexity.
And collapsed complexity always becomes pain.
🔶 The Real Problem Isn’t Structure — It’s Weaponized Structure
A lot of people think structure is the enemy.
It’s not.
Structure is how humans:
- make meaning
- create safety
- build rituals
- form relationships
- make art
- make sense of the world
Structure is not the problem.
Weaponized structure is.
Weaponized structure says:
- “Pick a side.”
- “Fit the pattern.”
- “Resolve the tension.”
- “Collapse your complexity.”
- “Choose one or the other.”
It uses structure to enforce binaries.
But supportive structure does the opposite:
- holds complexity
- creates spaciousness
- supports emergence
- allows spirals
- honors plurallility
- stabilizes without constraining
Supportive structure is the architecture of healing.
Weaponized structure is the architecture of control.
🔺 The Prime‑Number Breakthrough
Prime numbers refuse to divide cleanly.
They refuse symmetry.
They refuse closure.
They are the mathematical embodiment of:
“I will not collapse into your binary.”
Prime logic gives us:
- asymmetry
- openness
- spirals
- complexity
- relational truth
- coherence without collapse
This is the structure we’ve been craving —
the kind that supports without suffocating.
Prime numbers don’t destroy structure.
They liberate it.
🌀 Why This Matters for Healing
When we’re stuck in a binary, we feel:
- trapped
- reactive
- small
- powerless
- confused
- ashamed
Because binaries force us to choose between two incomplete truths.
But when we introduce a relational prime —
a third line, a third movement, a third option —
the whole system opens.
The cycle breaks.
The spiral begins.
The nervous system exhales.
This is why the triad praxis works:
When we hurt, we hold.
When we break, we brace.
When we spiral, we stay.
Three lines.
A prime structure.
A refusal of collapse.
This is real cohesion —
the kind that doesn’t require you to amputate parts of yourself.
✨ The Illusion Busted
We were never afraid of structure.
We were afraid of collapse.
We were afraid of being forced into a binary that couldn’t hold our truth.
Prime‑number relationality gives us a new architecture —
one that supports complexity instead of crushing it.
This is the beginning of real cohesion.
Not the counterfeit kind.
The kind that heals.
